YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —There was a continuation of stormy westerly weather early yes. terday and frequent squalls with'heary rain were experienced during the morning. After mid-day the conditions improved considerably, the squalls being less frequent and the showers not aa heavy. At a late hour the wind had de« creased to a light breeze. The tempera, ture at 4 p.m. was 55 degrees. The barometer rose rapidly after 6 a.m. f the rise recorded by midnight being .55in. The gale moderated somewhat in the afternoon. The weather was cold with a maximum temperature of 43.5 degrees. The barometer was rising fast last evening when it read 29.90 in; Dunedin.—Cold weather with a strong south-westerly -breeze was experienced yesterday. The minimum temperature was 3-5 degrees.
