MURRAY AT AKARANA In a practice round, preparatory to competing in the professionals' open tournament at the Akarana Golf Club's links, tho New Zealand professional and open champion, A. Murray, was responsible for a fine performance yesterday in completing tho course in 70 against the standard scratch score of 73. Murray's card read as follows: —Out: t, 3, 4. 'l, -1, 7, 3, -1, 4 —37. In.- 4, 3. 4, 3. 5, 4, 3. J, 3—33. Strokes were dropped at the fifth, sixth and fourth holes, but amends were made with eagles at tho 11th and lSth and birdies at the first, second and eighth. Murray's tee shot at the sixth finished out of bounds and with the stroke and distance penalty this hole cost him 7.
