BAPTIST TABERNACLE

BUILDING ALTERATIONS REMODELLING OF HALLS Special meetings in connection with the re-opening of the Sunday school and Church halls of the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle, which have been completely remodelled, will begin on Saturday. A public meeting in the new main hall will follow the official opening of the main entrance by the minister, Dr. Alexander Hodge, and the meetings will be continued on July 12, 13 and 15. The alterations to the Church buildings, which were planned by Mr. L. V. Moses, and carried out by Mr. R. McConib, of Papatoetoe, have provided vastly improved accommodation. In the basement there are spacious and well-lighted rooms for the primary and junior departments of the Sunday school, and tho women's Bible class, and also a kitchen. On the ground floor there is a new Church parlour, a mothers' room, and the Church administrative rooms. The first floor is occupied by the main hall and a gallery of classrooms. In the Church the choir gallery has been rc-designcd and improved, and larger and properlyequipped baptismal rooms have been provided. Tho construction is of reinforced concrete with a plaster finish, and special attention has been given to sound-proofing and ventilation, so that meetings may be conducted in the various rooms simultaneously without interruption.
