large increase shown Many freezing workers A substantial increase in the unemployment figures in Otahuhn district has occurred during the past week in C °nsequcnce of large numbers of porkers having been pnid-off at the freezing works, in the West field industrial area. The number of men now registered at Otahuhu for sustenance relief work is well over '2OO and 18 within a score of the peak figures recorded a few years ago. it is reported that at one of the freezing works at Westfield close n -"p men and lads have been dispensed with in the last 10 days.
