Mr. T. S. Townsend was yesterday admitted by Mr, Justice Callan as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court, on the motion of Mr. A. K. Turner.
Mr. T. U. Wells, chairman of the Auckland Education Board, was a passenger for the south the limited express last evening. He will attend a national conference of education boards in Wellington.
Mr. W. E. Anderson, secretary of the Auckland Employers' Association, left by the limited expresse last evening for Wellington, where he will be engaged in industrial matters. He expects to -return on Saturday.
Mr. W. A. Boucher left by the Monowai last night on a cruise of the islands. While at Tonga. Mr. Boucher will discuss various matters with the Tongan Government, for which his company, Spedding, Limited, is agent in Auckland. Mr. A. C. A. Sexton, M.P., Mr. R. H. Feisst, Mr. A. E. Lambert and Mr. R. Harrison, members of the Auckland Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, and Mr. A. E. Robinson, secretary, left for Wellington by train yesterday afternoon, to attend the annual conference of the union, which will open to-day.
