MR. JORDAN'S PLANS
CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON Tlio Auckland Transport Board yesterday decided to leave in the hands of the chairman, the Hon. H. G. if. Mason, the arranging of a meeting to farewell Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., who will leave on July 21 to represent New Zealand at the Assembly of the League of Nations prior to taking tip his duties in London as High Commissioner. Mr. Jordan said lie had been in communication with the Prime Minister-, Mr. Savage, about several matters which had to ho discussed in connection with the position in Europe, and lie had been asked to meet the Prime Minister and the Cabinet in Wellington next Monday. It had been planned to farewell him at. a board meeting on that date. TRIBUTE FROM SUPPORTERS FAREWELL GATHERING A large gathering of niemljors of the Epsom-Royal Oak branch of the Labour Party met last night to farewell Mr. W. J. Jordan. Mr. J. S. Stewart, who presided, paid a warm tribute to the services rendered to the Manukau electorate by Mr. Jordan, who, he said, was a true and tried humanitarian, and he felt sure that Mr. Jordan's advent into Geneva would be like "a breath of fresh air in a stuffy ehnmber." He presented Mr. Jordan with a travelling rug and Mrs. and Miss Jordan were given bouquets. Mr. Jordan expressed warm appreciation of the kindly spirit which' was being displayed toward Mrs. Jordan and himself throughout the electorate.
