PREVENTING TRAGEDIES
SAFETY OF SPORTSMEN SUGGESTION BY MINISTER ? [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Monday The possibility of preventing tragedies among shooting and fishing parties, such as that at Lake Wairarapa on Saturday, is engaging tho attention of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry. Tho Minister says he feels that acclimatisation societies, rod and gun clubs, and perhaps life-saving societies, could take the matter into consideration. No doubt they could devise some helpful means that would tend to provent or lessen these tragedies. The Department of Internal Affairs would cooperate in every way practicable with any move aimed at safeguarding lives.
