LARGE SUM IN LOOT
FIVE SUSPECTS ARRESTED
(Received July 6, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 5
Five arrests and the recovery of 200,000 dollars worth of stolen American Treasury notes were effected at the week-end by agents of the New York Department of Justice after working for more than a year on bond thefts aggregating 2,000,000 dollars. Various charges against the arrested men now total 16, and the value of the loot recovered amounts to 1,000,000 dollars. Robberies were perpetrated at premises of the Bank of Manhattan Company, on January 28, 1935, and at the United States Trust Company's institution on December 13, 1934, both in Wall Street.
