MORNING TEA
HOCKEY PLAYERS' ARRIVAL The New Zealand Women's Hockey Association representative, Mr. L. S. P. Butcher, who came to Auckland to meet the Fijian Women's Hockey Team, the managers and chapcrones of the country teams (ladies) who are in Auckland for the Auunal Country Week tournev, as well as officers of tho local ladies' hockey association, were tho guests of Mr. J. W. Court at a morning tea held in the John Court and Company's tearooms yesterday. Among those present were : Mesdames T. Spiers (Waipa), A. J. Aitken (Piako), A. Vernall and B. Hindman (Waikato), Webb (Whangarei), M. Bolland (Kin" Country), W. Croker (Rodney), W. I" idler. R. Grant Cowen, L. Clark, M. Wiley, B. Cooper, (Auckland), Misses K. Mackv and R. Spiers (Waipa), Marshall (Piako), E. Murdoch, J. Alley (Paeroa), P. H. Dawson, 31. Goldsbro', E. Jefferv, M. Weeks and A. Twinatne (Auckland), Messrs. J. W. Court snr., Court, F. Nicholson (Auckland), E. McSwecne.v (Paeroa), T. Field (Hauraki Plains), and W. Fanthorpe (King Country).
At the conclusion of the function, Miss Dawson tendered to Mr. Court and staff the thanks of the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association. Mr. Butcher spoke 011 behalf of his Association (the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association). Each expressed regret that the late arrival of the Fijian Women's team had prevented them being present. Mr. Court, jun., replied to Miss Dawson's speech of apprecia tion.
