THIEF IN THEATRE
REMOVAL OF CASH-BOX TAKINGS NOT LOCATED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] THAMES, Monday • The Regent Theatre was entered by a thief early this morning and the company's cash-box was stolen, as well as a bank-book belonging to the manager, Mr. 13. D. Chapman, who had been working at the theatre until 11.30 last night. The cash-box was locked in an ante-rcom, and contained only a shilling's worth of stamps, soma building society pass-books and thfl bank pass-book. The theatre takings for SaturdaJ night had been locked awjiy in tin sa£e. The pass-book was found b&> tween the railway line and the foreshore this morning and a later search revealed the cash-box on the for© 1 shore. It had been cut open.
