The selector of the North Island Rugby League team, Mr. H. Avery, lias announced the following players to meet the South Island in the match at Carlaw Park next Saturday:— Fullback.—C. Kay (hack) and J. Peterson (forward), of Auckland. The selector is evidently experimenting with some players in view of the forthcoming tour of the Englishmen. Dempsey's inclusion in preference to Kerr, Dcvonport, will cause surprise. Staples is said to be a promising five-eighths, while Coman, Wellington, is being given a further chance.
