DAMAGES AWARDED
SEQUEL TO COLLISION JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFF A claim for damages arising from a collision between two motor vehicles was heard before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, at Otahuhu. Plaintiff was Harry H. Pattle (Mr. Wallace), of Pukekohe, and defendant, Thomas F. Muir (Mr. Meek), farmer, of East Tamaki. Evidence was given that' plaintiff was driving southward on the Great South Road 011 July 31, when defendant's son was travelling northward. Defendant's vehicle mado to turn to the right into Puhunui Road, and plaintiff was forced to turn in also. A collision resulted, and plaintiff's car was damaged considerably.
"The magistrate said it behoved anyone turning across a stream of traffic to ensure that lie had right of way, and that his intentions were understood from his signals by the drivers of approaching vehicles. He entered judgment for plaintiff for £lB 18s 3d with costs, £5 Is.
