Operations for the week openec briskly on tlio Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday.

X feature was the strong demand for ; breweries. For New Zealands, olfers closed Is 3d higher at 53s 9d and there was business at 5Js, a rise of 2s 9d since June -o. Dominions wore sought Is higher at 25s (3d, and a sale at 0,5s 9d was only (3d below the cum dividend prico a few days ago. Staples were secured at 33s 9d, a drop of Sd in two weeks. The effect of further profit-taking was evident in Australian issues. Australian Glass were secured Od lower at 90s 6d, at which more were available, and Broken Hills sold 9d cheaper at 73s (3d, although additional supplies could not be hail at tho price. After a. transfer 3d lower at 80s, G. J. Coles were marked down severely, holders coming in at Sis (3d.
