FLOODS IN VICTORIA
LONG PERIOD OF RAIN COMMUNICATION DISLOCATED (Received July 5, (i.35 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 5 Officials of the Victorian weather bureau announce that the State is emerging from one of the longest periods of incessant rain ever experienced. The rain interrupted most of the sporting fixtures, dislocated telephone, telegraphic and aviation services, and cause an enormous damage to roads and bridges. Low-lying areas at Kensington and Footscray and along the River Yarra were completely submerged by flood waters which invaded homes and gardens.
