HIDING IN STORE
MAN FOUND BY POLICE EARLY MORNING ARREST [by telegraph—own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Sunday Findine; a door open at the back of the premises of Wallace Supplies, Limited, in Cameron Street, t\ hanga" rei, at two o'clock this morning. Constable J. King and the nightwatchtnan, Mr. G. Preston, made further investigations, and discovered a man concealed under a bench in the grocery department. The - intruder was arrested, and will appear before Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., in the Whartgarei Police Court to-morrow.
BURGLARY AT HENDERSON MONEY STOLEN FROM SAFE The general store of Mr. H. Norcross, in Station Road, Henderson, was broken into early on Saturday morning. Several pounds in cash and a quantity of stamps and cigarettes were stolen. The money was taken from a safe in which a key was left. The intruder gained entrance by forcing a padlock on the front door and breaking a glass panel, through which he was able to operate an inside lockAn attempt was made to enter the premises ffora the back, where sevenl windows were broken.
