RUN OVER BY CAR
PEDESTRIAN CROSSING ROAD SERIOUS CHEST INJURIES [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WHANGAREI, Sunday Critical injuries were suffered by Mr. George Brott, aged 47, of Omerahi, when he was run over this evening by a motor-car driven by Mr. li. H. Allan, of Whangarei. Mr. Brott, who is married, had alighted from a motorbus in front of the Whangarei Post Office with the intention of joining a motor-car for Mata, where lie was engaged in bush work. Rain was falling heavily and he was run over as he was crossing the road. Mr. Brott was taken to the Whangarei Hospital suffering from very severe injuries to the chest. His condition is critical.
