MOSSY CREEK DIVIDEND The Mossy Creek Gold Dredging Company, Limited (West Coast), has declared a dividend of Id* a share of Is paid. 7his is the sixth distribution of Id since July last year. Payment will be made on July 15. YIELDS OF COMPANIES Argo (West Coast).—-Last week, 670z. for 120 hours and 12,000 yards. Mossy Creek (West Coast).—Last week, 550z. lldwt. for 124 hours and 9035 yards. Worksop Extended (West Coast). — Last week, oOoz. for 134 hours and 10,300 yards.
Moonlight Goldfields (West Coast). — 70oz. for IGS hours.
REPORTS OF MANAGERS King Solomon (Gore).—Period ended June 27: To open up the south end of the mine a large footage of driving has been done to explore the possibility of getting to the ooutli of the faulted area, which has prevented progress. The physical conditions to be overcome to penetrate to the south and keep on gravel were the worst that have been encountered. The work lias been done, and the positions of the drives to tho south are favourable as a starting point for further work. Work had to be suspended owing to the more immediate necessity of prospecting ground known to carry gold values, these drives prospecting tho areas and letting out ground for blocking out. No new payable ground has been added to (lie reserve. Blocking out has been continuous for the period.A new pumping unit has been installed to pump the mine water to the main shaft surface, a vertical height of 200 ft, and has proved satisfactory. Maerewhcnua (North Otago).—Progress for June: A wash-up or June 17 produced approximately 12oz. 3dwt. Estimated value of gold, £BB Is Od. Approximate mine expenditure, £97 Part of this expenditure is in respect of die next wash-up, which will be included in the July report. The extension money, £l2l, for July in connection with tho option to London, has been received. The tunnel ' has been opened, nnd the shifting of operations to Golden Gully will now proceed. Big River (Reefton).—Weekended July 1: Shaft repairs—The main shaft has now been repaired to '2()ft above No. 1 chamber. Certain opening-out timbers at the chamber want replacing, and the work is now being carried out. The balance of the shaft to the surfaeo was found to bo in fair order. The centering and guides have now been completed at No. 1 intermediate level, ana in a fow days the shaft should be in workable order to No. 4 level
