TE AWAMUTU VALUES FAT COWS IN DEMAND KEEN BIDDING FOR SHEEP Dalgoty and Company, Limited, reports that at its tri-weekly stock sale at Te Awamutu there was a medium yarding of sheep, which sold under keen competition. Bidding was particularly keen on breeding ewes, mixed aged ewes bringing up to 295. 13oof was penned in average numbers and hero again a good sale resulted. Fat cows topped the market at up to £9. McVinnie on Thursday, a good bench of buyers operating. There was a good attendance of buyers and the total offering changed hands under the hammer at ruling rates. Quotations: —Springing heifers, £5 to £G; backward springing heifers, from £2 lis Gd; fat cows, £3 15s to £5; good condition cows, 20s to £3; boner cows, 10s to 21s; yearling heifer calves. 37s Cd to £2.

TE KUITI SHEEP FAIR [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN* coiirespondent] TE KUITI, Saturday Dalgety and Company, Limited, reports having held its annual winter sheep fair at the Te Kuiti yards yesterday. The advertised number of sheep came forward and were offered to an attendance mostly of local buyers, very few outside purchasers being present. The demand was not quite as keen as anticipated, although a steady sale and a most satisfactory clearance were reported; Bidding for a start was inclined to be dull, but improved as the sale progressed. The sheep 'generally were not quite as good as nt previous offerings and showed a little more age than usual. Any lines of young ewes were keenly competed for. Top price for fivo and six-year-old ewes was obtained for Tappin Bros.' draft, which realised 32s 3d. A line from J. N. Boddie, Oparure, made 30s (id, as did the offering from F. Hunt.
