YOUNG MAN IN COURT
FALSE PRETENCES CHARGE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Saturday A young man, Brian Desmond Fortescue, aged 26, was charged in the Police Court to-day before Mr. G. A. Empson, J,P., with falso pretences, in that he obtained goods to the value of £9 10s by falsely representing that he had an account with the Bank of South Wales at Auckland. On the application of the police, accused was remanded to appear at Wanganui on July 11. It was stated that other charges were pending.
