LONDON, July 1
Lord Nuffield hne offered £BO,OOO for St. Peter-le-Bniley Hall, Oxford, payable pound by pound as a similar amount is raised. The hall is a memorial to Dr. F. .T. Chavasse, second Bishop of Liverpool.
Dr. Cheras.se, who died in 1928, hecame vicar of St. J'eter-le-Bailey, Oxford, in 1878. In 1900 on the resignation of Dr. J. C. Kyle, first Bishop of Liverpool, he was appointed to the vacant see.
