A message from San Antonio, Texas, states that 13 persons are known to bo dead, including nine members of two families, and it is believed that 20 others may also have perished in floods which swept Southern Texas to-day. Many homes were reduced to driftwood and crops and live-stock valued at 1,000,000 dollars were destroyed. A deluge of rain in one area totalling 14 inches, which lasted all night, turned placid creeks into raging torrents which swept everything before them.
