FINANCES FOR YEAR

NEW SOUTH WALES DEFICIT

New South Wales has ended the financial year with a deficit of £1,680,000, compared with the previous year's deficit of £2,850,000. The Government expects to balance the Budget for the 1936-37 period. Queensland's finances for the year disclose a deficit of £741,815. Revenue amounted to £15,488,990, and expenditure to £16.230.805.

The revenue for the year in Western Australia amounted to £10.033,72], and the expenditure to £9,945,343, leaving a surplus of £88,378, compared with a deficit of £167,095 for the previous year.

South Australia's financial year closed with a surplus of £243,500, which will enable the Premier, Mr. R. L. Butler, to make a general reduction in income taxation.
