TIMBER FOR AUSTRALIA
PORT OF NEW PLYMOUTH
THE FIRST SHIPMENT
[by telegraph OWN correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday
The first shipment of milled timber from the port of New Plymouth will be taken to Australia by the ship Abel Tasman, due to-morrow. The consignment will consist of 170.000 ft. of liiatai. Further shipments will follow and it is hoped to establish a regit* lar trade. The timber is being milled in tho King Country and has previously been shipped through Auckland or Wanganui.
