HUGHES TO MEET PLUTO

Success after success has attended the visit to New Zealand of Cyril Pluto, the brilliant Australian welter-weight, and boxing patrons in every centre of the Dominion have been anxious to see him in action. In order to cater for their local sportsmen, nearly every association in New Zealand has been airxions to secure Ihe Australian's services, but the Auckland Boxing Association has priority and all his contests, with one exception, have been fought in tho Auckland ring. Since liis first match, in which he met and defeated Neville Mudgway, Pluto has won all his battles in Auckland, as well as that against Stirling, the New Zealand welterwci'rht. champion, whom he met in the south. Ilmrhes lias proved himself in the past by defeating all New Zealand feather-weight ti iid light-weight boxers, while in addition lie has be,ilen all the overseas boxers who were brought to tin? Dominion to meet him. Now, following a successful campaign in Australia and bis bout with Stirling, lie meets the latest of the invaders in what pro-'iises to lie one of the most interesting contests staged in recent years. During Iho past few months the Auckland Boxing Association has staged a series of highly successful carnivals which have proved conclusively that boxing is returning to its former hiirli favour with sportsmen.
