RISE in broken hills
Broken Hill Proprietaries were lifted to new, high levels in another wave of dealing on the Auckland Stock Exchange yr;-icrelay. The turnover was well above the average, but it was restricted Inrgelv to lending issues. Bank of New Zealands showed moderate recovery.
Broken Hills opened with a transfer fid higher at 71s, hut buyers came in strongly at the closing call and sales tip to 7.-,s .'!d followed. The rise in the 15s paid shares was even more pronounced, the sale price moving up 2 S ;{d to o7s ,'!d in a total of live transactions. Australian Glass were released nt 91s after opening business unchanged xit 90s (3d. Although there was an upward trend generally in Australian industrials, G. J. Coles closed weaker .after an initial advance.
