LARGER PIPE BAND
SOUTH AUCKLAND SCHEME
[from our OWN correspondent] HAMILTON. Thursday A scheme for enlarging the South Auckland Caledonian Society's pipe hand was outlined at the annua! meeting last night by the chief, Mr. E. J. J'. Trevena. He said the executive had been empowered to enter into eontracts for supplying additional uniforms and making replacements, the cost not to exceed £2OO. Many recruits were coming forward and competition for admission was keen.
A satisfactory -position was shown by the balance-sheet and report. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr-. A. Mcßae; chief, Mr. Trevena; chieftains, Messrs. G. Gilmore, J. Graham and V. S. Harris; pipe-major, Mr. S. Clothier; secretary, Mr. L. H. Cameron; committee, Messrs. A. H. Cheeseman, ,J. Clements, H. Kennedy, F. 10. Mason, S. Rogerson, M. Scott and 1?. Watt; auditor, Mr. AV. Glover. Messrs. J. S. Paget and A. Mcßjie wero elected honorary life membersr
