ANNUAL REUNION
MT. EDEN COLLEGE OLD GIRLS
There was a large gathering at the Lyceum Club on Saturday afternoon, when past students of Mt. Eden College held their annual reunion. The lounge was arranged for the occasion with bowls of autumn flowers, the tea table decorations having been carried out in tho old school colours of gold and white. The guests: were received by tho president, Miss Gladys Erson, and members of the committee, Mesdames H. T. S. Sellars, David Henderson, H. M. Rogerson, R. Muller, Rupert Sloman, L. F. Rudd, Bryce Hart, G. Barr, R. Burrell, G. Wright and Colin Gordon (joint secretaries), Misses Isobel Devore, Hilda Wiseman, Rona Taylor, M. Kronfeld.
The guests of honour were the former principals, Miss Bews, and Miss Alice Bews, who were presented with sprays of orchids by Mesdames Sellars and R Burrell. They were received with an ovation, after which their old pupils were presented to them, introductions being made by their "school names" Also present were: Miss Clouston, principal of St. Cuthbert's College, Miss Gwen Hooper, president, and Miss Tory Johnston (St. Cuthbert's Old Girls' Association), and Mile. Bouillon. A short business meeting was held earlier in the afternoon when arrangements were made for a bridge and mah jong evening to be held in July. The committee was re-elected.
Greetings were received from distant old girls. A pleasing ceremony during tea time, was the presentation to Miss E. M. Anderson, of a handsome bag and cheque, from the "old girls," as a memento of her long connection with them at Mount Eden College. During the afternoon items were given as follows:—Pianoforte solos by Mesdames Charles Prime and L. F. lludd; songs by Miss Edna Arthur, and a recitation by Miss Vera Ziman. Before leaving, Miss Hews, on behalf of Miss Alice Hews and herself, expressed their great pleasure at meeting so many of their staff and old pupils again. Among those present were: —Mesdames, W. J.
