Snodgrass converted three trios and Hicks kicked a penalty goal. Harris and Engle scored for Taupiri West, Wilson converting one try and kicking a penalty goal. Vancouver Cup results: Te Akau, 11, Kainui, 9, Huntly Old Boys, 28, Whitikahn, 5; Huntly, 15, Ngaruawahia, 3: To Hoe won from Gordonton by default. Hamilton.—Old Boys, the leading team in the senior inter-union competition, remained unbeaten, defeating Te Awamutu by ]3 points to 5. The visitors fielded a good pack, the All Black J. G. Wynyard playing well throughout. Old Boys' backs were superior, Voice, on the wing, being very reliable on defence. Te Awamutu was first to score, the first five-eighths, M. Bell, snapping up after a forward rush to cross well out. From a forward melee on Te Awamutu's tweny-five line the ball went, out to Dovi, then to Reid, who transferred to A. Lissette, the last-named scoring. Old Boys' next try was tho result of a pretty movement. From a scrum near half-way the first five-eighths, Dovi, cut in neatly and ran 20 yards before he returned the ball to the halfback, Gillespie, who scored. Lissette converted, malting the half-time score:—Old Boys, 8; Te Awamutu, 3. The visiting forwards were continually on the attack at the beginning of the second spell, this pressure being rewarded when Wynyard dived over to score. For United the scorers were F. Coulter and W. Wilson. Hewitt converted the latter's try. Better football was oeen in the Hau-tapu-Leamington encounter, when Ilautapu won by li points to 3.
