WESTFIELD QUOTATIONS LATE RATES MAINTAINED STORE CATTLE SELL WELL Average yardings of store and dairy cattle were forward yesterday at the Westfield weekly stock sale. The yarding of dairy cattle did not include so many good quality cows and heifers as usual and the demand was accordingly weaker than in past weeks. Prices generally were in line with late rates, with backward stock values easing considerably in face of a poor demand. The better-class lines sold fairly well, tho top prices for various breeds of cows reaching £B. The herd of 96 cows averaged £7 ss. the 13 springing heifers £8 3s, and 20 yearling heifers £3 ss. No extra heavy prime lots were offered, but medium prime made £9 lGs, others, £8 5s to £9 ss. Values for prime medium heavy cows showed little change from late rates. Unfinished sorts were slow of sale, but made prices that were better when compared with the heavier lines. Medium-weight prime heifers made £7. The store sheep section included several good station-bred lines, Waipoapoa twoi.ooth ewes, running with Southdown rams, making 35s lOd. The same station's fivei year ewes sold at 28s lOd, and Tc Apiti ewes, same age, 28s lOd.
