SCHOOL CONCERT
AUCKLAND GIRLS' GRAMMAR PERFORMANCE OF OPERETTA Bearing evidence of painstaking preparation, the annual entertainment by pupils of the Auckland Girls' Grammar School, held in the Town Hall concert chamber last night, well merited the applause it received from the audience, which almost filled the hall. The affirmative was taken by Juno BurkeKennedy (leader), Margaret Weir, and Marjorie Barnes, of I' orm 1\ A and tho negative by Eileen Quane (leader), Elise Strickland and Mavis Marten son. Form IV. Commercial. Gladys Brook was chairman. A Scottish dance, "Shean Trews," bv Nancy Kerr, to music by Piper T. Stewart, closed the first part of the programme. , The second part was wholly occupied bv a performance of tho oporetta, "Princess Ju Ju." The costuming was excellent, a particularly beautiful spectacle being provided by tho Japanese street scenes, in which appeared nearly 100 players, clad in gailycoloured kimonas and fluttering their little fans.
