THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE A SMALLER TURNOVER ' Except in insurances, conditions were generally easier in' the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Buyers were not keen and the turnover was reduced. 'Government loans ■ had steady support. Four parcels of the 4 per cent stocks changed hand's, but the variation was no more than 2s 6d each way. Bank of New Zealands continued to fall and more were available at 42s after a sale (3d lower at that price. The p mortgage issue was secured 3d lower at 28s Cxi. There was a scattered inquiry lor overseas issues. The rise in New Zealand Insurance was maintained, while South British followed ihe upward movement with business at 02s (3d and 92s 9d, a full gain ot I'd. - _ l'eeent weakness in Goldsbrounh Jlorts was retleeted in a sale at 31s ( Jd, a°drop ot '.VI in three weeks. Broken Hills ague, receded, sales being made Is lower at 70s. A stronger inquiry for llenown Coals led. to dealing at 10s lid. a rise of sd. Electrolytic Zinc preference also attracted good support and a sale at 42s 3d registered a gain of 2s. Kauri Timbers and Morris Hedstroms were moderately dearer in trading.
