MISSING CHILDREN
RETURN AFTER 24 HOURS STORY TOLD TO PARENTS fBY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] INVEIJCARGILL, Friday After having been reported missing for over 24 hours, three young children wefe found by their father in the street this afternoon. All were unhurt and none the worse for having slept out all night. The children, Helen Shanks, aged eight, and her brothers, Gordon and Colin, aged seven and five respectively, left their home about 12.45 p.m. yesterday to return to school for the afternoon. When they failed to reach home for tea their parents became anxious and, later in the evening, the children were reported to the police as missing. Several friends assisted in a search for the children, but it was not until this afternoon that Mr. Shanks found them. The story they told their parents was that they had been playing in an old motor-car on their way home from school and had fallen asleep. When they awoke it was dark and they were then afraid to return home.
