AEROPLANE DAMAGED
MISHAP AT MANGERE PILOT ESCAPES INJURY While landing at Mangcrc aerodrome at about mid-day yesterday, one of tho Auckland Aero Club's Moth machines, ZK-AAU, struck a small bank and overturned. The pilot, Mr. W. Badham, and his passenger, escaped injury. The propeller of the aeroplane was broken, the undercarriage was damaged and the wings were slightly crumpled. It was explained by officials of the club last night that parts of the landing ground are at present in « very rough condition where it is being levelled and cleared by relief workers. The bank struck by the machine was a small one, and could not be seen by the pilot until it was too late to avoid it.
