'• BRITAIN, LEADS THE WAY Ballroom dancing " made in England " is the pattern for dancers in every Continental country, according to the organisers of the Blackpool Dance Festival, held at the Winter Gardens last month. ' " The modern style has been developed on athletic lines by our best English ballroom dancers. That is why it is so much admired on tho Continent," Mr. B. S. Havward, one of tho officials, stated in an interview. . ' Franco b<*gan to copy our English style about ten years ago, Denmark six years ago, Norway and the rest quito recently. Continental dancers do well in the tango, but so far no other nationality has got anywhero near our finest ballroom dancers."
