EX-SOLDIERS' WIVES
The wives of members of the Birkenhead Returned Soldiers' Association were entertained at a very enjoyable evening in the Buffalo Hall, the function being largely attended. The gathering was welcomed by the president, Mr. J. Prickett, who was assisted by Mrs. Prickett. Songs were given by Miss E. Berry and Mr. L. Porter, the.accompanist being Miss Redding. Entertainment was also provided bv the Birkenhead Dramatic Club, who presented the one-act comedies. "The Warming Pan" (by W. W. Jacobs'), and "The Banns of Marriage," (by Charles Lee). The shadowgraph comedy, "Penalty of Telling a Lie." was also produced by the boys of the club. Refreshments were served by the committee.
