TAUPIRI ACTIVITIES

Members of the Taupiri Croquet Club spent a social afternoon at the residence of Mrs. R. E. Hunter, the occasion being a farewell to Mrs. G. Lovell, who is shortly to leave tho district. On behalf of tho members, tho president, Mrs. R. E. Hunter, presented Mrs. Lovell with a handbag and bouquet. Thoso present wero:—Mesdames G. Lovell, R. E. Hunter, T. B. McDowall, A. H, Blackburn, F. A. Wilson, F. Durbridge, F. R. Catley, J. D. Bruce, G. Horwood, S. J. Stanley, J. Murphy, E. A. Sownian, H. McCambridge. A dance was held in the Taupiri Hall 011 Wednesday night by members of the local basketball club. There was a very largo attendance and an enjoyable time was spent. Opportunity was taken at tho weekly Plunket afternoon for members of the committee, mothers and friends to farewell the district nurse, Miss G. Thomson, who has been transferred to Foilding. The branch committee president, Mrs. E. A. Sowman, presented Nurse Thomson with a carved kowhai powder bowl.
