FAMOUS MOTOR-BUS
VETERAN OF GREAT WAR ARRIVAL AT VANCOUVER [FROM Ol'B OWN COnRKSrONPF.NT] VANCOUVER. May 20 One of the famous company of Eoniflon motor-buses that carried the Old Contemptibles to tho forward area in Flanders at the outbreak of war, "Old Bill," was landed from a British freighter at \ ancouvcr to take part in the coming jubilee of the city. Thousands of people lined the streets of the city as the bus. still with ironshod wheels, and powered bv its ancient engine, was driven by an oxsoldier who went to France from London with the 90th Company, as tho bus unit was named. Fhirty-six Old Contemptibles were passengers on the bus it toured the city;-
Like the war veterans, "Old Bill" found the hills difficult, and his passengers bad to dismount and help him frequently. Sitting next to the driver was a Canadian V.C., who was a passenger with the same driver when the latter was wounded in the head on the road between Poperinghe and Flamertinghe, in the Ypres Salient, in October. 1!)14. This was the first occasion on which the famous buses came under enemy fire.
