FAMILY REARED ON MILK "NO SIGN OF TUBERCULOSIS" [ FROM out OWN (OR It IS TON DKNT ] SYDNEY, .1 ii ne 5 The drab atmosphere of the room in which the milk inquiry has been taking place for days was enlivened this week by the indignation of a Penrith dairy farmer at evidence that had been given as to tubercular infection of dairy herds.
"I read in tin 1 newspapers that farmers were apathetic about giving evidence." said Mr. Kdgar Albert Tanner. "and I couldn't rest until I came down. I am milking 70 cows, and today my wife is out in the yard in my place. She is 01 years of age, a dairy farmer's daughter, and no T.B. about her. Statements have been made here that 75 per cent of the milk was produced from T.B infected cows. It's wicked I am 5H years of age, and 1 have tli imk it all niv life, and there's no I'.lt. in me.
"One of my boys is a champion rower, another has three State athletic championships, one of my daughters is a champion javelin thrower" there the witness, in his enthusiasm, went through the motion of throwing a javelin i, "and another hoy, IS years old and I2st. weight, has three championships. They were all reared on milk. "There have been times when the supply was falling oil, and I've told inv wife that she should go a bit light oii the supply for the family.
