STATE DEPOSITS HIGHER FALL IN BANKS' HOLDINGS LOWER LEVEL OF EXCHANGE [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION! WELLINGTON, Thursday The Reserve Bank return for the week ended Monday, Juno 1, was gazetted to-night. The statement is balanced at £2B-,758,474, or £227,621 less than at the close of the previous week. A decrease of £32,381 is shown in the total of the note issue. Government deposits arc higher by £149,530, while those of the trading banks have decreased £339,541. Other demand liabilities are down by £3983. % The total of sterling exchango lias fallen by £249,392. The investment item is £12,647 higher, while other assets have increased £9063.
