STOCK SALES

FKANKTON VALUES HEAVY SHEEP YARDING BEEF IN KEEN DEMAND [from our ow.v correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of both fat wethers and ewes; at the Frankton saleyards to-day. Competition was not as keen as recently experienced and prices were easier. Fat lambs were entered in good numbers, with rates a shade firmer th:m last week. Quotations were unchanged for a good yarding of store sheep. Ther© was a small entry of runners and vealers, mostly second quality, with values slightly easier. Cow and heifer beef again came forward in full numbers, including a good proportion of finished cattle. Competition was good, with outside buyers operating freely at advanced rates. An exceptionally heavy entry of second quality and boner cows met with a slightly better demand. Buyers were offered a small yarding.of fat pigs, with very few baconers, a. large proportion being porkeirs and unfinished sorts. The demand for baconersi was still good, but porkers were again, lower. Stores and weaners were not so keenly sought as at previous sales, and here again prices were lower.
