AVONDALE WOMEN'S CLUB
The dramatic circle of the New Lynn Women's Institute visited the Avondale Women's Club at the Blockhouse Bay Hall on Tuesday afternoon, when they presented two plays, " Peace in Our Time" and "A Dish of Scandal." Tho players, Mesdamcs Lawson, Tate, Boler, Teed, Harris, Phillips, Siddle and Farmer, wero well cast in both pieces and were warmly thanked for their entertainipent by Mrs. Thom, who presided. The club's delegate, Mrs. Rigden, gave tho report of tho meeting of the National Council of Women, and several remits wero brought before club members. During the afternoon songs by Mrs. Beamish wero greatly enjoyed, Mrs. Bollard acting as accompanist. At the close of tho meeting tea was served by the committee under the supervision of Mrs. Gre«p.
