FARMERS' TRADING ADVANCE

\ feature of an otherwise dull market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday was another advance in Farmers' Trading shares, which moved up Of} to 9s Bd. following publication of ' the company's accounts. Offers rose to 9s 7d, but dropped back to 9s 6d at the close.' while holders were firm at c)s 10d. Business generally was slack, however, with only a scattered inquiry. The onl'v Government loan issue to change hands was the 1949, 4 per cent stock at the current level of £lO4 ss. Of main interest in banks was a further decline in Commercials of Australia with a sale at 19s Id, a fall of .'id, and more were availablo. New Zealands sold unchanged, and the majority of the remaining issues were neglected. ' New Zealand Insurance shares showed a further strengthening in a transfer ,3d in advance at 62s 3d. Nationals, on the other hand, again lost ground, dropping back 3d to 17s 9d, following declines in the South. The rise in Dominion Breweries was continued with a transaction Gil higher lit 23s 9d. Levels for Australian Glass followed the. trend on Southern exchanges and fell 3d to 90s 9d. Broken Hills and British Tobacco sold without alteration, but Claude Neon (N.Z.) in a transfer at 41s established a fall of Is on the last sale about a month ago. Wilsons Cement again dropped, being iiecured (3d cheaper at 45s (3d. A loss of-3d was made in a sale of New Zealand Newspapers at 43s 3d. Current levels sales were put through in G. J. Coles and Consolidated Bricks. After an unchanged transfer, Wool worths ,<X.Z.) gained 3s in a sale at £8 2s(. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
