The weather report and forecast fof'< New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, were as follows:— Except that the northern de. pression has moved further eastward and pressure has risen somewhat to the north and east, the general situation remains unchanged, with an anti-. p cvelone covering the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. The indications are for southerly to south-easterly, winds over . the North Island, still strong at places ' north of Auckland, but otherwise light to moderate; light and variable winds in the South Island, but westerlies pr<v vailing in the far south. Seas in -New Zealand waters rather rough north of East Cape, a considerable but decreas. ing southerly swell south of East Cape, and elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: East to southeast winds, moderate to strong, but de. creasing in the northern portion, with rough but moderating seas; light to moderate in the southern portion, with slight to moderate seas. The weather is likely to be fair to fine generally, but a few isolated showers are still probable in the far northern and north* eastern parts of the North Island. Cold night, but moderate day temperatures. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST SHOWERS IN THE FAR NORTH The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the follow-* ing special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Moderate to strong east no south-east winds. A few isolate showers are still probable in the far north and on parts of the East Coast, but otherwise the weather is likely to be fair. Seas heavy, but moderating, with an easterly swell on the East Coast and a moderate sea on the West Coast. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —Fine, sunny weather was experienced in Auckland yesterday.
