Stephens, who recently returned from abroad, after studying public administration under a Rockefeller fellowship, were given at the first annual meeting of the A nc^' braiich of the New Zealand Institute of Public Administration last night. Mr. W D. Armit, Commissioner of Crown Lands for North Auckland, presided over a fair attendance of members. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Professor R. M. Algie; president, Mr. W. D. Armit; vice-sre, ' sidents, Messrs. A. S.'Faire, J. P. P. Clouston. H. W. Beasley; secretary anl treasurer. Mr. J. K. Hunn; committee, Messrs. W. R. Millier. C. G. S. Ellis, E. C. Higgins, J.
