AUSTRALIAN MEAT
EXPORTS TO ENGLAND
QUOTAS ANNOUNCED

MELBOURNE, May 26
The Australian Meat Board to-day announced the quantities of chilled and frozen beef and veal available for export to the United Kingdom in the second and/last quarters of this year and for the period July 1 to the expiry of the Anglo-Argentine meat agreement on November 11. The quantities, which exceed those of the corresponding period of last year, are: July 1 to October 30, 671.,832cwt.; July 1 to November 11, 824,385cwt.j July 1 to December 31, 1,01)5,265cwt. The totals for all the States' frozen and chilled beef are resjjectively, 857,832, 1,052,285 and 1,2!J3,865cwt.
Australia's allocation of beef and veal shipments for the second half of 1035 was 1,150,000cwt., including 160,000cwi. of chilled beef. For the s first half of 1936 a quota of 574,000cwt. ■was agreed to. The Anglo-Argentine agreement 'was for three years from May, 1933, six months' notice of termination being required.
