BUTTER-FAT CHEQUES

ONE SHILLING FOR CHEESE NEW ZEALAND COMPANY [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday The payment of Is per lb. butter-fat for first grade milk for cheese manufacture, the highest advance for several seasons, will be made on Wednesday by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, on the April supply. For finest quality butter-fat for butter manufacture the advance will be IOJd. The payment is free of share credits. Last month the payments were llid for cheese and lOd for butter, respectively.

Other companies are making the following payments:—Morrinsville, butter, lOJd; Norfolk, cheese, lOJd; Sunny Park, cheese, lid, butter, lOJd; Hinuera, butter, lOJd; Tokoroa, cheese, lOJd; Waikato Valley, butter, lOJd; Te Aroha-Thames Valley, butter, lOd; Harlan, butter, 10.Id; Cambridge, cheese, llid, butter, IOJd. The Cambridge Company will havo paid out £192,718 on May 20 for thi= season's supply, compared with £148,540 for the corresponding period last year. The advances made in May, 1935, by the various companies were based on Bid for butter and 9Jd for cheese.

KAITAIA DISTRIBUTION DECLINE IN THE OUTPUT [by telegraph—own correspondent] KAITAIA, Saturday The advance rate against April but-ter-fat supply to the Kaitaia Co-opera-tive Dairy Company has been fixed at Did per lb. first grade. The total advance for the season to the end of March amounts to £120,449, as against £97,977 for the corresponding periorl of the previous season, an increase of £22.472.

The output of butter for the month of April was 9G tons, as compared with 135 tons for April of last season, a 29 per cent reduction. The output for the season to the end of April totals 1691 tons, as against 1824 tons for th« same period last season, a i-cduction of 133 tons or 7 per cent.
