PRESSURE STILL HIGH FINE WITH COLD NIGHTS

The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening bv the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —Pressure remains very over the Australia-New Zealand ar4, but is still relatively low to the west of the Dominion. The forecast is f or light to moderate winds and variable : Seas in New Zealand waters moderate at times in exposed positions, but for® the. most part smooth or slight/ Eastern 'fasman Sea: Light to moderate and variable winds with easterly to southerly predominating. Seas "smooth to moderate. The weather for the most part is likely to be fine, with cold night temperatures. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST MAINLY FINE AND MILD The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the follow, ing special forecast for the Auckland Province:—Light to moderate and variable winds, with easterlies predou*. inating. There may he an occasional light drizzle in places later, but tha weather is likely to be for the most part fine, with mild temperatures. Seas smooth to moderate. \ ' WEEK-END WEAIHER Auckland. —Fine weather, with sunshine during tie day and an almost cloudless sky at night, was experienced during the week-end. The wind was light and variable, but was mostly from a southerly direction. The temperature at 4 p.m. yesterday was 56 degrees. There was very little movement ol tha barometer, which continued high and was practically steady at 30.45 m; during the 48 hoars. . Wellington.—Saturday was fine but overcast and at times dull. A light wind, varying from north-easterly to north-westerly, blew during the day. The maximum temperature was 58 grees, and the minimum on Friday night 49. Sunday was fine and clear most of the day. A very light northerly breeze blew at times. The maximum temperature was 63 degrees and the minimum on Saturday night 49.

Christchurcb.—lt was fine and warm in Christchurcb over the week-end. On both days there was a light southwesterly breeze in the morning and a light easterly in the afternoon. The barometer, which was falling slowly, registered 30.34 in. at 5 p.m. yesterday! Dunedin.—Although the sky was overcast, conditions generally were mild on Saturday and tbe maximum temperature was 59 degrees. The barometer was rising for the greater part of the ilay. Overcast conditions continued yesterday, but there was a decided fall in the temperature, the maximum for the Hay being 54 degrees. The barometer, which was steady during the morning, showed a falling tendency after midday.
