DECISION TO LIBERATE THE 1933-34 CLASSES (Received Mny 17, G. 45 p.m.) PARIS, May 16 The French Cabinet has decided to liberate the 1933-34 classes of conscripts who were called to tho colours to reinforce tho frontier when Germany occupied the Rhineland. Mny 15 Herr Hitler has decided that, as international affairs are in such a state of flux, he will not reply to the questionnaire submitted to him by the British Government at the request of the Locarno Powers for elucidation of certain points in his recent peace offer until after the League of Nations Council concludes its meeting next month, FOREIGN SECRETARY RETURN TO LONDON INTERVIEWS IN PARIS British Wireless RUGBY, Mny 15 Tho Foreign Secretary, Mr. Eden, arrived id London this evening from Geneva, having travelled to Croydon by air. In Paris he saw the French Foreign Minister, M. Flandin, and the prospective Prime Minister, M. Blum. Neither conversation was of an official character. M. Flandin was prevented by ill-health from attending the recent meeting of tho League Council at Geneva.
In a private and informal talk Mr. Eden and M. Blum are understood to have made a general survey of international affairs.
EXIT FROM LEAGUE GUATEMALA GIVES NOTICE GENEVA. May 15 The Central American Republic of Guatemala has sent a telegram to the Secretariat of the League of Nations giving the necessary two years' notice of withdrawal. The despatch adds that an explanation is being sent to Geneva by post.
