MOTOR-CYCLISTS HURT
STATIONARY CAR STRUCK MAN'S CONDITION SERIOUS Colliding with a parked motor-car on the Great North Road at Avondale last night, a motor-cyclist, Mr. Robert Wright, aged 37, single, of Seabrook Avenue, New Lynn, suffered a fracture of the skull. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where his condition at an early hour this morning was regarded as very serious. Mr Wright was riding toward New Lynn and struck the stationary car very heavily. The motor-cycle was badly damaged.
GRAVE INJURIES RECEIVED COLLISION AT HIKUIIANGI [rflOM OUR OWN correspondent] WEIANGAREI, Sunday Serious injuries were received hv a motor-cyclist, Lionel Motley, aged 17, who was involved in a collision with a motor-lorry 011 Saturday afternoon. He received severe scalp wounds, a fracture of the base of the skull and injuries to the brain. His parents reside in Hikurangi, and he is employed as a farm labourer at Maromaku. The accident occurred at Church Street. Hikurangi. The lorry was laden with coal and driven by Mr. A. McKinlay. A St. John ambulance from Whangarei took the injured man to the Whangarei Hospital. He was unconscious when admitted, and his condition to-night was very serious.
