ORPHANS' CLUB
The vice-president. Mr. G. W. Hutchison, who presided at the fortnightly gathering of the Auckland Orphans' Club on Saturday night, extended a welcome to the Mayor of Auckland. Mr. Ernest. Davis, one oi the oldest members of the club, and to representatives of the Devon port, Onehunga and Taiuaki Orphans' Clubs. Replies were made on behalf of the visitors bv Mr. Davis 'and Mr. Hartman, president of the Dovonport Club. Mr. V. R. Meredith, past president, was welcomed back after his visit to England. The programme included selections by the orchestra, under tho conductorship of Mr. Harold Baxter.
